Get cpmm for Linux

One tarball with the command-line tool and the desktop app, for Linux x86_64 and Steam Deck.

First release coming soon

No release has been published yet

Until the first tagged release, you can build cpmm from source. It's a standard Rust project, and the GUI is a Tauri app. The steps are in the repository's README.

Requirements

  • Linux kernel 6.8 or newer. Check with uname -r.
  • Unprivileged user namespaces, which most distributions and SteamOS turn on by default.
  • Your cpmm data directory on the same filesystem as the game. By default that’s ~/.local/share/cpmm.
  • 7z on your PATH, for extracting mod archives.
  • A Nexus Mods account and personal API key. See Nexus Mods setup.

Install

tar -xzf cpmm-*-linux-x86_64.tar.gz
cd cpmm-*-linux-x86_64
mkdir -p ~/.local/bin
cp cpmm cpmm-gui ~/.local/bin/

Then start cpmm-gui to run the setup flow, or cpmm setup in a terminal. The install guide has the details, and there’s a separate guide for Steam Deck.

Verify the download

Each release ships a .sha256 file next to the tarball. Download both into the same folder, then:

sha256sum -c cpmm-*-linux-x86_64.tar.gz.sha256

Windows and macOS

cpmm runs on Linux today. Windows and macOS support is coming; follow progress on GitHub.
