Getting started

Install your first mods, check them, and launch the game.

This guide assumes you’ve finished Install and the first-run setup.

Install a mod

From the GUI, open Install and paste a Nexus mod page URL or id, or click Browse Nexus and use Mod Manager Download on the mod’s page. From a terminal:

cpmm install 107 --with-deps # Cyber Engine Tweaks, plus anything it requires

cpmm downloads the file, checks it against the Nexus SHA-256 manifest, works out the archive’s layout and stages it. If the mod has a FOMOD installer, cpmm walks you through its options. Mods that are missing a hard requirement won’t install unless you add --with-deps or --ignore-deps.

Installing straight from the API needs a Nexus Premium account. Without Premium, use the site’s free Mod Manager Download button, which hands cpmm an nxm:// link.

Check your setup

Open Health in the GUI, or run:

cpmm doctor

The doctor looks for things that crash or stutter the game: unresolved redscript imports, duplicate installs, real @replaceMethod clashes, unrelated archive overrides, missing requirements and load order problems.

Sort the load order

cpmm sort # show the proposed order
cpmm sort --apply # save it

The sort only moves mods that actually overlap, and leaves everything else where it is. With auto sort on, which is the default, cpmm re-sorts after installs, updates and enabling. See Concepts for how the load order works.

Launch

Press Launch Cyberpunk in the GUI, or start the game from Steam as usual. Steam runs cpmm run -- %command%, which mounts your mods for the game only. Changes you make apply on the next launch.

Keep mods up to date

cpmm updates # what has a newer upload
cpmm changelog <mod> # what changed
cpmm update --all

Made a mistake? cpmm undo-update reverts the last update run.
